TOKYO/CAMBIANO, 10 MAY 2024

Automobili Pininfarina, renowned for creating the most beautiful and exclusive pure-electric hypercars in the world, has for the first time presented the all-new Battista Cinquantacinque, inspired by the Pininfarina-styled 1955 Lancia Florida, and the B95 hyper Barchetta, to audiences in Japan.

The introduction strengthens the company’s presence in the region of Asia as it continues to deliver its promise of ‘Dream Cars. Made Real’ to clients around the world. Working with world-class luxury experts SKY GROUP as its retail partner, based in Tokyo, Automobili Pininfarina will provide a personalised client experience like no other, ensuring every hand-crafted vehicle to leave the company’s atelier in Cambiano, Italy and destined for Japan, is a unique expression of each client’s personality.

Automobili Pininfarina will introduce two vehicles – the B95 hyper Barchetta and Italy’s most powerful and fastest road legal car, the Battista – to Japanese clients.

Battista: Italy’s fastest road legal car

Introducing the never-before-seen Battista Cinquantacinque, inspired by the 1955 Lancia Florida, this hyper GT integrates stunning design with unparalleled performance. Its exterior is finished in a flawless Blu Savoia Gloss paint, contrasted by the Bianco Sestriere Gloss roof and completed by the elegant Brushed Anodised jewellery pack. Inside, it is upholstered in a bespoke Mahagoni (Poltrona Frau Heritage Leather). The livery and name Cinquantacinque, translating to ‘55’ in Italian, elegantly honours the iconic, classic 1955 Lancia Florida, styled by Carrozzeria Pininfarina.

The Cinquantacinque model features a number of unique inscriptions that point to its heritage and provenance. The passenger door plate as well as the underside of the active rear wing both feature the ‘Cinquantacinque 55’ signature.

Each Battista is propelled by four independent electric motors and a powerful 120 kWh lithium-ion battery, delivering 1,900hp and 2,340Nm of torque. This advanced powertrain ensures thrilling performances, such as acceleration 0-100 kph in 1.86 seconds and 0-200 kph in 4.75 seconds, as well as a comfortable driving range of up to 476 km.

B95: world’s first electric hyper Barchetta

B95 makes its debut in Asia as the world’s first pure-electric hyper Barchetta, and the first coach-built car by Automobili Pininfarina. The introduction of this pure-electric, open-top hyper Barchetta to the Asian market signifies Automobili Pininfarina's commitment to expanding its global reach and delivering bespoke hypercars and experiences to the world’s select taste makers. It demonstrates a highly-exclusive design and technology showcase available in strictly-limited numbers. The simplicity of its flowing open-topped bodywork contrasts with exquisite technical details to provide a dramatic interpretation of a classic racer, underpinned by pure-electric performance.

Paolo Dellachà, CEO of Automobili Pininfarina, said: "Our entry to the Japanese market is an exciting milestone for Automobili Pininfarina as we continue to expand our global footprint. Japan is renowned for its rich automotive culture and discerning clientele, who appreciate artistry, performance, and innovation. We are confident this new audience will appreciate the Italian craftsmanship and engineering expertise that goes into making each and every Automobili Pininfarina vehicle a unique expression of its owner’s personality.”

In 2023, in addition to its Battista and B95 vehicles, Automobili Pininfarina introduced its ground-breaking PURA Vision design concept, a vehicle that sets the template for the design of future models from the brand. PURA Vision embodies the company's vision for the future, its PURA design philosophy, and showcases the principles which transform the DNA of iconic models from Pininfarina SpA's past to define the future, balancing inspiration from iconic classic cars with futuristic elements.

Every vehicle has been designed by the Automobili Pininfarina Design team, engineered and hand-crafted in Cambiano by a team of artisans.
