Automobili Pininfarina is headquartered in Munich, Germany, has a design facility and office locations in Turin, Italy, and comprises of a team of experienced automotive executives from luxury and premium car brands.

The company is a 100% Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd investment and has been named Automobili Pininfarina—following the signing of a trademark licence agreement between Pininfarina SpA and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. Pininfarina SpA will take on a significant role in supporting design and production capacities based on their almost 90-year experience of producing many of the world’s most iconic cars.

Automobili Pininfarina will combine its in-house expertise with some of the world’s leading automotive design and engineering suppliers to support its aggressive performance targets and market launch in late 2020. Designed, developed and produced in Germany and Italy, all models will be sold and serviced in all major global markets under the brand name Pininfarina. The new company aims to be the most sustainable luxury car brand in the world.

Anand Mahindra, Chairman of Mahindra & Mahindra, Paolo Pininfarina, Chairman of Pininfarina SpA, and Dr. Pawan Goenka, Chairman of Mahindra Racing, launched the new car brand with Michael Perschke, CEO of Automobili Pininfarina at the Rome Formula E race on April 13th, 2018. Having competed in every Formula E race since the world’s most innovative motor racing series began in 2013, Mahindra has quickly built up experience in innovating cutting-edge ‘race-to-road’ programs and sustainable high-performance technology.

Both Pininfarina and Mahindra share long and storied histories in the automotive world. For almost 90 years, Pininfarina has shaped the automotive world from their Turin workshop, giving countless luxury sports cars and limousines a distinctive shape while remaining true to its own design DNA. Meanwhile, the Mahindra Group has established itself as the global market leader in the truck and agricultural machinery industry for nearly 75 years, growing in size to encompass a total of over 350 subsidiaries. Automobili Pininfarina acquired design services for more than €20m from Pininfarina SpA to support plans for a range of beautiful and innovative luxury vehicles. This investment is part of both brands’ long-term strategic partnership which includes the underpinning of the design, development and production of the Battista hypercar.

RIMAC Automobili

As major part of Automobili Pininfarina’s asset light approach, Rimac Automobili will provide battery and drivetrain expertise and hardware. This unique technical partnership allows Automobili Pininfarina to develop the Battista vehicle program at a much shorter lead time than industry competitors and to start delivery in late 2020. Working closely with Rimac has largely strengthened Automobili Pininfarina’s credibility in the EV sector and spread confidence towards Battista’s hypercar credentials amongst the company stakeholders.
TECHNOLOGY PARTNER

Pirelli

On the cusp of Battista’s world debut, Automobili Pininfarina confirmed its technical partnership with performance tire manufacturer Pirelli. Both companies announced their strategic collaboration to the world when all three Battista design models were presented at the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show with bespoke Pirelli P Zero tires for the first time. Since then, both companies are currently engaged in discussions to develop a bespoke tire program for the most powerful Italian sports car ever made.

Greentech Festival

Promoting shared values of rapidly developing green technologies, accelerating positive change in car ownership and exciting people about electric vehicles, Automobili Pininfarina has been invited by its brand partner Greentech Festival to host the German launch of Battista this year in Berlin. Both companies’ mutual ambitions are further underscored by Nico Rosberg being one of the founders with strong motorsport credentials as a former Formula 1 champion.

Connected through their shared Pininfarina design DNA, the partnership between Automobili Pininfarina and Princess Yachts was a natural and much desired outcome. Both brands engage strategically to create experiences money-can’t-buy and add value to both brand’s client groups through sharing of global event platforms. This partnership is further strengthened by Princess Yacht’s CEO Antony Sheriff who is also a member of the board of Automobili Pininfarina and Rimac.

Rear Wing Contrast

Thanks to the active aerodynamics you can present the Rear Wing underside in a special way by painting it in a contrast colour.  


Also the Rear Detailing Screws can be personalized with a great range of colours to underline the beautiful rear of the Battista.

Front Nose

For an additional accent it is possible to modify the visual appearance of the Front Nose. 

Choose your colour according to the main body or go for a contrast colour to give your Battista a special front face character. 

Olive Leaf Tanned Leather

The leather tanning process is constantly evolving. The Olive Leaf Tanned Leather proposed by Seton is produced with a 100% organic tanning agent made of aqueous olive leaf extract. Olive leaf tanning uses fallen or pruned leaves to create an organic tanning extract.

Olive leaf tanned leather can be finished with embossing, metalization and patina effects just as much as standard leather. The color range achievable with this technology is very much linked to its natural origin.

The innovative colorization technology enhances the texture of the weave whilst maintaining intact the performance of the material. The industrial process is highly energy efficient , aimed at reducing loss of thermal energy, and it uses water based and solvent-free eco-resins

Re-Invented Natural Materials

With an ever growing demand for sustainability, authenticity and transparency, we felt compelled to look at our production processes, to find ways to reduce or upcycle our own waste and regenerate end-of-life materials.


Companies like Authentic Materials in France can use production scraps of leather and wood to create high-end, luxury new materials, effectively creating a circular economy.

Upcycled Material

Thanks to Aquafil, discarded fishing nets are regenerated into the high quality Econyl® yarn, which is then used for the production of brand-new products, such as Racemark’s automotive mats.


Racemark’s vision is to become the global leader in sustainable automotive floor protection by 2023, in the aim to develop and sell products that create no waste and require no new material resources, because they can be recovered at the end of their useful life and endlessly upcycled, recycled or regenerated.
